Partnerships

At Knavesmire, we are very proud of the partnerships we have made within the local community.

We work alongside The Bishy Weigh, St Nicks Field and Terracycle who help us recycle our stationery.

You can find out more information about these partnerships here:

Mini Forest School Overhaul

Back in October 2018, Mrs Gibson met with a few super volunteers to clear the proposed Forest School area.  As much as a Forest School is meant to be a 'wild' area, it was necessary to clear/rake up the ivy carpet as it was preventing anything else growing at all! The results are very exciting as we have a much larger site than we thought having taken down the old fencing that kept the chickens in and cutting back the vicious brambles.

The staff have all taken classes out to gain the children's ideas for use and we held a staff meeting to gain the teacher's ideas linked to Big Ideas or general weekly use.

Thank you so much to the people who turned up to help on Sunday and for all the offers of help going forwards. Mrs Gibson will certainly be in touch as the project goes forwards.

The Chocolate Works Care Village

Each Friday, pupils from a different year group visit The Chocolate Works Care Home and engage in an activity with the residents (such as sharing their school work, reading a story, playing a game), or simply have a chat.  We love our close relationship with the residents and mutually look forward to our weekly visits.

Each we week will add to the gallery - please click here to access the photos of our visits.
