Reception New Starters - updated
Good Morning All,
First of all, thank you very much for all of the detailed 'All About Me' forms that you have completed and sent in. This is a great introduction to your children and we have enjoyed reading through them.
As you can appreciate, our usual transition methods are being challenged. We are working hard to formulate a plan to aid a smooth transition for your children as they enter into school life. We feel it is very important for the children to see the setting before they start school, as this is not currently possible we have put together a 'Virtual Tour' which you will find below this post. Please be assured that we will aim to have a transition period for visits as soon as we can, whether this be in July or possibly September.
Following on from the phone calls we've been making, you will soon find out which class your child will be in and who will be their teacher.
We have had a small change in staffing since we sent out the new starters packs. Please see the document below for an up to date staffing list for Reception.

Reception New Starters
Dear Reception New Starter Parent/Carer
By now you will have received notification from the admissions team at the City of York Council that your child has been allocated a Reception class place with us in September 2020. We would like to take this opportunity to offer you a very warm welcome from us all at Knavesmire Primary School. We are really looking forward to meeting you and your family.
Normally, we would have organised a new starter meeting but under the current strange circumstances this is not going to be possible. We know that you will have lots of questions and queries however, so in the absence of a meeting, we've put together an Information Pack for you that you will have been sent by email.
Please have a look through the Information Packs and also take a look at the the slides from the Powerpoint below that we would have normally shown you at our New Starter Meeting.
If you have any questions at all after looking through the information, please email them to the Reception Team directly:

In the meantime, we hope you and your family are well. We will be in touch with any further details regarding transition as soon as we have anything new to share. At present we are still very uncertain about what September will look like in school but as soon as we have clarity, we will share it with you.
